City and fire department officials broke ground on April 2nd for the new Station 6 at Spitfire Street at the curve with Boeing Street — a location chosen to help cut north side response times — and the fire station will include multiple bays for fire engines, ambulances, and personnel; its funding comes from the Federal American Rescue Plan Act and the sale of unneeded city property.

A major milestone was completed in the construction of the new water tower in Idaho Falls on April 2 when the bowl was slowly raised to the base starting at 8 a.m. and taking over four hours. On April 1, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. ordered the closure of the Head Start office in Seattle that serves Idaho—along with Washington, Oregon, and Alaska—and placed staff on administrative leave until June without warning. Thousands of Idahoans start their day with Good Day Idaho Falls

“Reading the newsletter has become a really positive daily habit for me. I read it while drinking my coffee and planning the day. It saves me a ton of time, but it's really enjoyable too. It's great to have the news filtered down to just a handful of critical events everyday that actually matters to me. I also like reading the community profiles. They interview people locally like teachers, politicians, and small business owners. It's hard to find this anywhere else.”

“This newsletter is like a lifeline. I don't have the attention span these days to read the paper, and Facebook is a mess. This newsletter keeps me informed, without taking the whole day from me.”

“I like how this newsletter keeps me connected with our community. It's great to have a dedicated source that focuses on what's going on locally. So many news companies are focused on huge attention-grabbing national headlines. But, besides the entertainment value, it's not really relevant to my day-to-day. Also it's great the newsletter is free.”

“This newsletter has been a game-changer for my business. It not only highlights local news but also features small businesses like mine. It's a great platform for local exposure.”

“I'm a parent, and it's apparent how busy that makes me. I LOVE newspapers (especially the smell), but I never have time to read it anymore. So thank god this newsletter exists, and I can read it in a few minutes. If anything is really critical or catches my eye, I can always spend more time reading into each piece of news, but it isn't usually necessary.”

“I moved away a few years ago. I use the newsletter to keep one foot in the town I grew up in, and my friends and family continue to live in. It keeps me connected to my hometown, and I look forward to reading it quickly every morning.”
