- ➤ Snake River Animal Shelter used a Rachael Ray No-Kill Excellence Grant to purchase a van in January 2025 and transfer more than 180 animals from partner groups throughout the year. The shelter (now calling the van 'The Cuddle Shuttle') continued its lifesaving work in Idaho Falls and the surrounding area. East Idaho News
- ➤ Airman Caden Smith from Idaho Falls joined the Navy in 2025 and now serves as a naval air crewman at STRATCOMMWING ONE in Oklahoma City — crediting his family farm upbringing and military tradition for pushing him through aircrew school. East Idaho News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office warns drivers to obey winter closures on roads such as McCoy Creek Rd, Bear Creek Rd, and Snake River Rd — violating closures may lead to citations or dangerous rescues due to limited cell service. The roads will reopen in spring when safely maintained. East Idaho News
