GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ High winds have postponed the demolition of the 89-year-old water tower in Idaho Falls, which was set to begin Friday morning and will now start Monday. Crews have assembled a large crane to dismantle the bowl, and work is expected to finish by early February. KXPI
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Sterling Urgent Care reported a severe flu outbreak this season indicating the worst flu in 30 years after treating 180 patients over the Christmas weekend — Public Health District 7 confirmed three flu-related deaths, and officials say cases continue to rise. KXPI
- ➤ McCain Foods initiated a voluntary Class II recall of Ore-Ida Tater Tots and Sysco Imperial Potato Tater Barrels on Dec. 3 for clear hard plastic fragments, and local food providers and residents are urged to check freezers (if package codes match) and discard affected items. KXPI
