  • Local author Jeana Atkison of Paper Seed Press will launch her fifth children’s picture book 'How to Bake a Cake' this spring and a Cake Kindness Challenge—encouraging families to bake and deliver cakes as acts of kindness in partnership with Icing Smiles—with pre-orders opening Feb. 1.  East Idaho News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Rep. Dustin Manwaring and Sen. Dave Lent presented a report at the Capitol on Jan. 16 recommending that medical education programs be expanded to address a shortage of 1,400 doctors. The proposal calls for strengthening the Idaho WWAMI partnership and enhancing clinical training pathways + boosting graduate capacity.  East Idaho News
  • Idaho's new Parental Choice Tax Credit launched on Jan. 15 after over 3,300 applications were submitted for nonpublic school costs — families can receive up to $5,000 for K‑12 students or $7,500 for those with disabilities by using the Taxpayer Access Point.  KIVI-TV
