- ➤ On Thursday, local law enforcement officers were honored for their bravery at an awards ceremony — held at Melaleuca headquarters — where five officers from the sheriff’s office, police department and state police were recognized with video segments presented by reporter Nate Eaton. - ➤ The City of Idaho Falls secured $12 million in federal funding to support the airport terminal expansion, which will add baggage screening & ticket counter improvements as part of a $60 million project; construction is expected to start soon and take about 27 months pending final design. - ➤ The Idaho Senate approved SB 1227, a bill aimed at establishing a framework for responsible use of artificial intelligence in public schools (sponsored by Sen. Kevin Cook of Idaho Falls) on Monday with 26 votes to 8, and it now moves to the House for review. East Idaho News
