  • Griz, a 4-year-old pyrenees mix, joined Snake River Animal Shelter as Pet of the Week at the shelter (3000 Lindsay Boulevard) in Idaho Falls; the shelter welcomes visits Tuesday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday until 5 p.m.  East Idaho News
  • Champs Heart (in Idaho Falls) partners with Bridle Up Hope (serving Pocatello) to offer equine programs that build life skills and foster healing for women, girls, children with special needs, and veterans today.  KPVI

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Three local 8th-grade students from American Heritage Charter School will travel to Washington, D.C. on Feb. 14 to compete in the Future City STEM finals after winning a regional contest in Boise with a sustainable farm-to-table city design + they will present their project until Feb. 17.  East Idaho News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Idaho Falls city will host a public open house tomorrow, Feb. 11, in City Council Chambers to gather input on improvements at Birch Street and South Boulevard, which include a roundabout, intersection realignment, parking removal and upgraded crossings; construction will begin after July and finish in late fall.  KPVI

  • Valerie, a local 6-year-old, has seen the right side of her body shrink and lost reflexes, causing severe pain; doctors have done scans and scheduled genetics testing while her family raises funds to cover soaring medical bills and travel costs for more specialized care.  East Idaho News
  • Terry Reilly Health Services said patients will receive letters within the next week informing them that their personal info may have been exposed in a cybersecurity incident tied to a third-party vendor, and the notice provides free identity and credit monitoring instructions.  KIVI-TV
