- ➤ Idaho Falls Rescue Mission reported record capacity this winter as all three shelters are fully occupied and its meal program now serves up to 150 guests per dinner; the organization will host its annual A Walk in the Cold 5K on Mar. 14 to raise funds and awareness. KXPI
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Local photographers will see their work on display in the new USS Idaho submarine, which is scheduled for commissioning in April. Among the 40 selected photos from over 2,000 submissions is a Mesa Falls shot by Rexburg photographer Jordan Jensen (a proud native of Idaho). KXPI
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Jefferson Joint School District 251 will adopt a four-day school week next year, affecting 6,500+ students. Elementary classes will run from 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. and middle/high classes from 8:00 a.m. to 3:55 p.m., while teachers will meet on the 2nd + 4th Fridays for professional learning. KPVI
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Eastern Idaho is experiencing its hottest winter on record so far, with Idaho Falls at 33.3°F (above the normal 21.9°F) due to record warm temperatures that melted morning snow quickly in places like Pocatello. Experts expect warm trends to lead to a reduced snowpack later this year. East Idaho News

- ➤ Residents with new, unexplained chest pain or discomfort lasting more than a few minutes with symptoms such as shortness of breath, nausea, or lightheadedness should call 911 for immediate care at Idaho Falls Community Hospital today. Doctors advise that even mild pain be assessed promptly to rule out serious conditions. East Idaho News

- ➤ Pebble Creek Ski Area is closed for several days due to a lack of snow and worsening conditions on the aspen beginner area. Although it initially planned to reopen tomorrow, officials announced it will remain closed today and tomorrow and will reopen on Wednesday. KPVI
