- ➤ The Idaho Falls Women’s March will take place Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Bonneville County Courthouse as local activists gather to raise awareness for women’s rights under the theme Standing Together—three local speakers will address the crowd before the march moves toward the Broadway Bridge. - ➤ On Sunday on the 4700 block of Majestic View Drive, deputies arrested a local woman identified as Kelli-Anne Martinez after she tried to break into a house by going through mail and placing it in her car — she gave a false name and misled officers before being taken to the Bonneville County Jail. - ➤ Bentley Hill and other locals protested in early March at Bonneville County Courthouse to push for tougher penalties for sex crimes—her petition has gathered over 4,100 signatures and a Protect Our Children Rally is set for April 26 at 2 p.m. on the Broadway Bridge to urge Governor Brad Little and the Legislature to act. - ➤ The Idaho Freedom Foundation filed legal complaints against 12 school districts over claims they illegally collected teachers union dues using taxpayer funded payroll systems after a House bill banned paid leave for union duties, with Bonneville Joint and Idaho Falls among the districts named (two in total). - ➤ The Idaho Legislature passed a bill that would allow the death penalty for adults convicted of sexually abusing children 12 and under and set a mandatory minimum sentence for offenders abusing children ages 13 to 15—now the bill is headed to Governor Brad Little for final consideration. KXPI
