- ➤ Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle crash in Idaho Falls that occurred on April 3rd at approximately 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of E Ririe Highway and E 49th — a blue Kia Carnival collided with a black Toyota Venza — and they ask anyone with video footage or eyewitness accounts to call 208-528-3408. - ➤ Crispy Cones, the viral ice cream cone company, is opening a new location in Idaho Falls today at 10:45 a.m. at 3512 S 25th E, and the grand opening event will offer a ribbon cutting and free cones all day—bringing sweet deals and giveaways to the community. KXPI
- ➤ Blue Cross of Idaho will lay off 135 employees beginning in June after losing its dual-eligible contract with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare—contract awarded to UnitedHealthcare and Molina Healthcare. Hurwit, a former U.S. Attorney for Idaho, will serve as a special deputy prosecuting attorney for Latah County to represent the state in its case against Bryan Kohberger, who is accused of killing four University of Idaho students in November 2022. Prosecutors have requested additional documents on expert mental health evaluations from the defense to prepare their rebuttal ahead of trial set for Aug. 11. KIVI-TV

- ➤ A historic Stinker Station sign that was to be donated to the Museum of Idaho for its exhibit Signs of the Times, opening on April 19, went missing in late February near Beachs Corner at the junction of U.S. Highway 26 and Idaho Highway 43, five miles northeast of Idaho Falls—officials are asking anyone with information to help recover it. - ➤ Idaho Falls officials and fire department staff broke ground on Fire Station 6 on Wednesday morning at 2767 Spitfire Street. The new station—designed with bays for fire engines, ambulances and workers—will help teams reach calls faster and was funded with remaining American Rescue Act funds and proceeds from property sales. - ➤ The City of Idaho Falls is building a new water tower that will hold one million gallons and cost about $8.5 to $9 million (it will include LED lights to change color for local events), and steel crews are working now to install the top and prepare it for connection to the city’s water system. A time-lapse video captured a 4.5-hour ascent during a snow shower yesterday while workers advanced the project toward a final finish by the end of summer. KXPI

- ➤ Pest experts in Idaho Falls said bed bugs are coming back and that spraying them only makes the bugs hide and breed. They advised homeowners to call professionals who will raise home temperatures to 130 degrees — a method that requires staying elsewhere for at least 24 hours — to kill the pests. KXPI
