- ➤ A United States postal worker suffered third-degree burns when a gas can exploded on April 1 as he tried to start a fire for s’mores; he is now in a medically induced coma at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls (age 25) and faces a long recovery. East Idaho News

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Contractors working on the new water tower in Idaho Falls will begin installing the water main on South Capital Avenue starting Wednesday, April 16th, which will create a detour near the public library that is expected to last about four weeks—drivers must use alternative routes while access to Idaho Falls Power remains available. - ➤ The city of Idaho Falls will begin sweeping residential streets on Monday, April 21 — starting with arterial and collector streets and those marked for repainting. The work is divided into 26 zones to avoid garbage collection days, except on Fridays and the week of Independence Day — with crews re-sweeping major roads later and adjustments made for weather or equipment issues.
