- ➤ The Eastern Idaho State Fair announced its 2025 theme — Saddle up and a lineup that starts on August 29 with country singer Dylan Scott, continues with bull riding on August 30, a truck and tractor pull on August 31, a rodeo from September 1 to 3, comedy by Jeff Dunham on September 4, Train on September 5, and a demolition derby on September 6. Tickets for VIPs go on sale today and tomorrow while general tickets become available on April 18. KPVI
- ➤ The Hispanic Chamber Committee is hosting a free toy drive for Dia Del Nino on April 26 at the Bonneville County Fairgrounds from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to give each child a new toy and share Hispanic traditions—local groups will also perform and hold a car show with children as judges. - ➤ Fremont County crews are working to put out a large brush fire near the Warm River Campground off Highway 47 as sheriff's deputies ask locals to stay away so responders can work safely — authorities have not given the fire's size or cause. KXPI

- ➤ Organizers announced that the Eastern Idaho State Fair will run from August 26 to September 6 and will feature acts such as country singer Dylan Scott, comedian Jeff Dunham, and pop band Train. - ➤ Bonneville County reopened parts of its backcountry road system on April 15th with Eagle Pass, Kepps Crossing, Meadow Creek Rd, and Fall Creek Rd now open and a portion of Jack Knife Creek Rd available with caution. Deputies warn drivers that roads such as McCoy Creek Rd, Bone Rd, and Blackfoot Reservoir Rd remain closed until maintained—motorists are urged to obey road closed signs to avoid safety risks or criminal charges. - ➤ Bonneville County commissioners approved a 182-day moratorium on processing mining applications for water recharge projects after residents raised concerns on April 1; the pause began on April 7 and will continue until a new ordinance is passed to protect public health and safety. - ➤ Governor Brad Little signed House Bill 109 that bans the use of SNAP benefits to buy soda and candy; the state health department will ask the federal government for a waiver (the Senate passed the bill 25-10 and the House 48-20).
