  • The East Idaho Home and Garden Show is underway at the Mountain America Center with nearly 200 vendors offering landscaping, gardening, and home improvement tips + a freeze warning may keep early planting on hold. The event runs Friday from noon to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  KXPI
  • The annual Camp Hayden Benefit takes place today at Park Avenue Grill from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Organizers aim to double last year’s fundraising by featuring over 20 local vendors, kid activities, and more than 70 raffle items to support Camp Hayden for children with special needs.  East Idaho News
  • Paulina Gonzalez organizes the 2000s FitFest, a workout event with Zumba and mobility exercises, today at the Idaho Falls Waterfront. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and includes vendor booths, snacks + a Y2K themed photo booth and prizes.  East Idaho News
  • Larry volunteers as a cuddler in the EIRMC NICU and has comforted tiny patients for over 15 years. Today, a local partnership with Ashley and Ashley Outlet honored him for Feel Good Friday — a well-deserved recognition for his kind service.  East Idaho News

  • Pony Express held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday morning for its new car wash at 1803 North Yellowstone Highway near Lincoln Road in Idaho Falls. The event, hosted by the Greater Idaho Falls Chamber, marked its seventh location and offered a grand opening special to customers.  East Idaho News
  • Extreme Rush, the new fun center with go-karts, laser tag (and arcade games), opens Monday (April 20) following a VIP preview on Friday after years of planning. Customers can sign up for a free membership to track their activity stats.  KPVI

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Bonneville Joint School District 93 will place a supplemental levy on the May ballot to help keep Full-Day Kindergarten, Gifted and Talented Education, and elementary P.E. and Music programs running; the measure would provide $9.6M a year for two years to close a growing budget gap.  KXPI

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Since its February opening, La Golosa Snacks offers creative twists on Mexican dishes from its food truck. It operates at North Tourist Park on Lincoln Road Wed-Thurs 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and at the Greenbelt on Memorial Drive Fri 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and Sat 12-5 p.m. plus free drinks on Thursdays.  East Idaho News

SPORTS NEWS

  • The staff won the annual Orange and Black Bowl flag football game 41-7 against ISU students at the ICCU Dome last Thursday, with coach Cody Hawkins leading the effort despite an ankle concern. The students plan to come back stronger next year.  KPVI
