COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Volunteers in Idaho Falls began collecting donations on Wednesday, April 23 at the humanitarian center to support assembling hygiene kits for people in need in honor of Global Youth Service Day. Youth will assemble the kits on Saturday, April 26 as part of the world's longest-running annual youth service event by JustServe Idaho Falls.  KXPI

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Monday at 11:00 p.m., a speeding Ford Fusion crashed into a Honda Civic near Woodside Drive on North Ammon Road, causing both vehicles to hit a utility pole and trigger a power outage while both drivers were removed and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries; authorities said the Fusion’s driver—reportedly intoxicated—had been flagged in Jefferson County, and the crash is under investigation.  KPVI
  • On Wednesday at 1:15 p.m. on Joan Ave, neighbors saw dark smoke and helped toss buckets of water as the Idaho Falls Fire Department arrived at 1:19 p.m. to put out a small structure fire that damaged a shed and fence—leaving homeowners relieved that the house was unharmed.  KXPI

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Jalen Fuhriman and Hunter Reese launched Holy Rollers, a trash bin fetching service that moves customers' garbage cans to the curb, primarily aiding seniors and travelers. The service, which began in January and charges $10 a month, now serves about 45 customers from Idaho Falls to Menan.  East Idaho News

CRIME NEWS

  • Officers responded at about 1 AM to a burglary call near 1150 E and 1300 N in Shelley and arrested 27-year-old Luke Thomas Herzberger, a California man who reportedly fired multiple shots causing a bullet to strike a police vehicle – with no injuries reported – and he is now facing charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon Enhancement while booked in Bingham County Jail.  KXPI
  • Local man Jaime Campos, 28, pleaded guilty to sexual battery of a minor that led to a pregnancy and was sentenced to a minimum five-year prison term with an indeterminate period of up to 20 years—he had been incarcerated since 2022 and a 20-year no-contact order was issued between him and the victim’s family.  East Idaho News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Local law enforcement and health officials will host National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at seven sites in Eastern Idaho — including the Blue Cross of Idaho Office in Idaho Falls — where residents can drop off unused prescription, over‑the‑counter and veterinary medications but not needles.  KXPI
