- ➤ On Saturday, about 15 Idaho Falls residents marched along the Snake River and crossed Broadway Street near the Farmers Market to protest missing and murdered indigenous people—especially women—using red handprints as a silent mark. Michelle Perez, who organized the rally ahead of a national awareness day, said the group will not remain silent on this long-standing crisis. East Idaho News

- ➤ A local man was sentenced to 135 months in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl after officers found about 12,000 pills and a large sum of cash in his car following reports of a fight at the Fort Hall casino parking lot in 2023—he pleaded guilty last September. KPVI
- ➤ During a Saturday morning traffic stop near Lindsay Boulevard and Highway 20, Bonneville County deputies observed signs of intoxication from driver Mikayla Hill, who was arrested for DUI, while passenger Jordan Pence punched a deputy and was charged with felony battery—an injured deputy received hospital treatment for a facial contusion before being released. - ➤ Idaho Falls Power received four of eight natural gas-burning generators on Monday, May 5—at its new $36 million Peaking Plant and Clean Energy Research Park in Idaho Falls. The generators will run on a hydrogen-natural gas mix to lower operating costs and will start working in December. KXPI
- ➤ Construction on the new water tower is nearly finished and the city is sharing design submissions from a 1974 public art contest. Water superintendent Dave Richards found about 100 drawings from local residents and students, and the tower will have a simple white finish with a LED lighting package — a feature that will allow colorful displays during events.
