  • Idaho Falls will host the Second Annual Juneteenth Community Music Festival with two free public events planned for the future - the first on Saturday, June 14 at Riverwalk Bandstand with live music, mayor remarks and local information booths and the second on Tuesday, June 19 at Colonial Theater featuring a Readers Theater presentation and musical performances.  KXPI

CRIME NEWS

  • An Idaho Falls man was arrested after allegedly stealing over $32,000 from an 88-year-old woman in his care — Ignacio Soriano III, 49, now faces charges of felony grand larceny and felony grand theft and is set for a preliminary hearing at 1 p.m. on June 13 before Magistrate Judge Tawnya Rawlings.  East Idaho News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Trustee Carrie Scheid resigned from the College of Eastern Idaho Board effective June 1 after serving eight years due to serious health issues — her departure follows key contributions to the college and local community efforts. The board will select her replacement at its next regular meeting on June 24, with the new trustee serving until the November 2026 election.  KXPI
  • Bonneville County Library will launch its 2025 Summer Reading Program this Saturday, June 7th at 11:00 a.m. at Iona Park—where a Color Fun run/walk will start at 11:15 a.m.—and FOIL will donate $9,000 to fund new books and services.  KXPI

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Crews with the Idaho Clean-up Project finished demolishing the Naval Reactor Prototype Plant on the Idaho National Lab site on June 4th—reducing the facility’s footprint. Demolition crews will remove remaining debris later this fall.  KPVI
