- ➤ Mark Franklin founded Roof Rescue in 2014 in Idaho Falls to repair or replace roofs for residents in eastern Idaho; he formalized his community nomination program, Operation Roof Rescue, last year to choose four or five helpers each year. After overcoming personal challenges including two years in county jail, Franklin now plans to expand his free roof service into other areas of the region + Cache Valley, Utah to help more people. - ➤ On Monday, a fire damaged two homes and a camper trailer on the 3000 block of Lorna Avenue in Bonneville County—burning a garage and part of the trailer, spreading to a nearby home while the cause is under investigation with damages estimated at $250,000. KPVI
- ➤ A 76-year-old man from Box Elder, South Dakota died when his 2023 Nissan Rogue left the right shoulder and struck a tree on U.S. Highway 20 near Ucon at 12:28 p.m. Wednesday — a 72-year-old passenger was taken by ambulance to an Idaho Falls hospital. East Idaho News

- ➤ Idaho Falls Police say a suspicious individual used a B.B. gun to damage several windows at an apartment on St. Claire on Monday and urge anyone with information to call 208-529-1200. KPVI
- ➤ A 50-year-old California woman, Wendy Bess, was arrested Tuesday night in Idaho Falls after triggering a bank alarm when she attempted to withdraw money with a stolen ID — an Uber driver turned her in to police who charged her with multiple felonies, and her preliminary hearing is set for June 24. East Idaho News

- ➤ Miss Idaho Falls Reagan Eubanks and Miss Idaho Falls Teen Kirra McCarty will compete for the title at the 2025 Miss Idaho and Miss Idaho Teen pageants on June 14 at Colonial Theater in Idaho Falls—both visited Local News 8 in the Morning to encourage community support. KXPI

- ➤ Idaho Fish and Game will launch the free 'Take Me Fishing' program to teach new anglers across the state in June and July. The program will supply over 100 fishing poles and expert volunteers, and you do not need a fishing license—making it easy for families to learn the sport. KIVI-TV
- ➤ Gem Prep School in Chubbuck hosted its Summer Splash fundraising event Wednesday afternoon where students and community members enjoyed water games—raffle prizes, a dunk tank for school principals, and treats like lemonade and cotton candy.
