- ➤ An Idaho Falls man, Robert Lange—charged with second-degree murder for allegedly beating Alejandro Paredes-Hurtado on Oct. 19—was re-jailed after failing alcohol tests and is set to appear for a hearing on June 17 with a jury trial scheduled on July 21. East Idaho News
- ➤ Local contractor Brandon Cook—accused of defrauding homeowners in Bingham County through his company Re-Lived Construction—had his trial declared a mistrial yesterday amid charges of grand theft by failed promise and persistent violations, leaving several victims and witnesses shocked by the outcome. - ➤ On Tuesday, Wendy Bess from Texas attempted to defraud Idaho Central Credit Union at 3330 S. 15th E. in Idaho Falls using a fake account—she fled after dragging an officer 50 feet and injuring him slightly and was later arrested when an Uber driver helped police locate her. KPVI

- ➤ On June 12, the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office held a Teen Law Enforcement Career Camp at Eagle Rock Gun School and Range for 24 teens who practiced gun safety using (AR15 rifle) and service pistols, learned handcuff use and traffic stop techniques, and saw an explosive demonstration by a bomb technician. Sgt. Daniel Sperry said the camp builds leadership skills and has grown so much that a waitlist has formed for future sessions. East Idaho News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today, dozens attended a ribbon-cutting at the Bonneville County Courthouse for the new ADA accessible courtroom built to host new District and Magistrate judge positions and complex trials. The renovation began in September and was completed in less than a year—officials say the courtroom will hold its first trial in a few months—meeting growing community needs. KXPI
- ➤ The Idaho Transportation Board approved projects using new TECM funds from House Bill 25 to upgrade I-15 near Blackfoot and US-20 near Idaho Falls. The projects—set to begin as early as 2026—will widen lanes and improve interchanges to ease congestion and boost safety, and the public can submit comments in July. KXPI
