  • Make-A-Wish Idaho will hold its annual Walk for Wishes East Idaho fundraiser on June 21 at Russ Freeman Park at 1280 Science Center Drive in Idaho Falls; registration begins at 9 a.m.—the walk starts at 10 a.m.—and participants may sign up as individuals or teams to raise funds for granting wishes to children with critical illnesses.  KXPI

  • Former Chief Operating Officer Nicholas Manning, a respected community leader involved with local nonprofits, was found dead in a Baltimore hotel on June 9—police noted no signs of trauma while his body was sent for autopsy amid family claims that his death may be a homicide.  KXPI
  • Witnesses in Idaho Falls were angry after a man in a white Chevy truck threw two kittens out of his moving truck — one kitten suffered a seizure and both were hit by cars before a friend arranged a respectful burial.  KXPI
  • Commuters at the intersection of 25th and 17th are making illegal right turns on red nearly every cycle — a risky practice that worsens with the extra turn lane from construction and new no-turn signage.  KXPI

  • On Thursday, June 12, the Bonneville County Courthouse opened a new state-of-the-art courtroom in Idaho Falls that uses modern digital technology to handle more complex civil and criminal cases. District Judge Steven Boyce and Trial Court Administrator Tammi Whyte said the new space converted from a former police department area will improve trial efficiency — meeting growing court demands.  East Idaho News
