The Idaho Supreme Court ruled in favor of Sun Valley Company in a wrongful death lawsuit that began in 2019 when skier Stewart Milus collided with padded snow-making equipment on Lower River Run.

The court said the equipment was not actively in use and that Milus assumed the risks of skiing as outlined in Idaho Code section 6-1103 & the decision ended a nearly six-year legal battle.

The Idaho Falls Fire Department warns that disposing active fireworks in garbage cans can trigger house fires near homes.

Fire Marshal Jim Newton recommends soaking fireworks in a bucket overnight—then disposing of them safely the next day to help prevent property loss and injuries.
