- ➤ Idaho Falls police responded on July 4th at 2:42 a.m. to a 911 call reporting a stabbing at the Fred Meyer parking lot after a fight linked to Shady Rest Campground, then arrested 30-year-old Mariano Rodriguez— a local resident— following a SWAT search at a Mojave Street home, and he was taken for medical clearance before being booked for aggravated battery as investigators review conflicting witness accounts. - ➤ Idaho Falls man Shawn Micheal Pelkowski, age 40, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, a felony count of possession with intent to deliver, and a misdemeanor count after deputies stopped him on June 25 near the Sunnyside exit on Interstate 15 when a K9 alerted them to marijuana, LSD and MDMA in his vehicle—he is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on July 9 at 1 p.m. East Idaho News
