- ➤ Local nonprofit Families of the Fallen is raising funds to help the loved ones of firefighters, Battalion Chief John Morrison and Battalion Chief Frank Harwood, who were killed in an ambush near Coeur d'Alene last weekend. The Idaho Falls fire union has also set up a GoFundMe—having collected over $2,600 of a $25,000 goal—while 100% of July donations will support the families. East Idaho News

- ➤ A local man, Michael Joseph Swanson, 44, was arrested on DUI and resisting officers charges after he allegedly wrapped his truck around a tree near Burns Creek Road and East Heise Road on June 30 following a report he had been drinking Twisted Teas at a campground—his preliminary hearing is set for July 15.
