  • The Idaho Falls Zoo welcomed two new lions — Kenya and Dixie — to the lion exhibit this week as they arrive from a zoo in Texas. They are settling into their new home after replacing Hondo, who left in April for a breeding program in Pittsburgh.  KXPI
  • Local first responders and law enforcement will face off in the 14th Annual Guns-vs.-Hoses Charity Softball Game on July 25 to raise funds for Make-A-Wish to grant wishes for children in Eastern Idaho. Last year, the event generated over $12,000, adding to $100,000 raised over 13 years.  KXPI

  • Gregory Allan Davis of Idaho Falls was charged with aggravated assault after he beat a man and a woman with a metal rod in a shed at 2000 North block of 5th West on Tuesday night around 6 p.m.—deputies arrested him after a brief struggle and took the injured victims to a local hospital.  KPVI

  • The Palace Theatre in Chubbuck will present Grease from July 17 to August 9. Jenna Davies said the show has not been performed since 2009 and will feature new costumes and many beloved songs — a fresh take for local audiences.  KPVI
  • The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho will host Chalk Fest Community Day tomorrow on its museum grounds and at South Capital Park. Teton Toyota supports the event that will feature live chalk art demonstrations, free chalk pastels, and a People’s Choice Award contest with cash prizes of $500, $150 and $50—bringing a creative, relaxed experience for all ages.  East Idaho News
