  • The Idaho Foster and Adoptive Parent Association is hosting its annual Lemonade Stand for Foster Kids fundraiser this month to support the foster care program—registration provides a welcome kit with a tablecloth, stickers, and guidance on how to explain foster care. ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • According to the Idaho Transportation Department, a crash on US-20 near 105th N. in Idaho Falls blocked the left lane — drivers are advised to seek alternate routes due to expected delays — and no further details on injuries or the crash cause have been provided.  KXPI

CRIME NEWS

  • Idaho Falls Police Department is asking for help locating two runaway teens—17-year-old Alyjah Malacara, reported missing on May 31 with brown hair and brown eyes and now with unknown whereabouts, and 16-year-old Alayla Ellsworth, last seen on July 8 near Fort Hall wearing a white shirt, black corset, dark gray cargo pants and a light gray hoodie—as harboring a runaway is a crime.  East Idaho News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Idaho Falls Power will begin major upgrades to the electrical system in the Sunnybrook area east of Woodruff on July 16 and will replace aging underground cables with new transformers. The work will run Monday through Friday for four to six weeks—customers can expect brief power outages lasting three to four hours and should stay clear of work areas.  KXPI

HEALTH NEWS

  • Local wildland firefighter Riley Frazier is recovering at home after suffering second-degree burns to his hands, wrists and face while fighting a wildfire in Nevada on June 20—he was transported by ambulance and helicopter, spent 12 days in the hospital, and returned to Idaho Falls on July 2. He will have regular check-ups at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center as his hands continue healing.  East Idaho News
