- ➤ Hops N’Paws, a new dog park and taphouse at 1810 West Broadway Street, opened three weeks ago to give local pet owners a safe place to socialize their dogs and enjoy drinks and snacks. Co-owners said they will add dog daycare and host events like Bark in the Park on Aug. 30—activities planned to boost community fun. East Idaho News
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A fatal rollover crash on I-86 on June 29 killed Bruce Turner and left his wife Barbara Turner injured, and she died today at a local hospital—she was a respected member of the local Episcopal Church and Rotary Club—leaving the community mourning their loss. KXPI
- ➤ On Monday afternoon, emergency responders rescued a Utah family from their van after it rolled off the road and entered the Snake River near Fall Creek Campground—bystanders and multiple rescue teams worked together to extract everyone safely with no reported injuries. KPVI

- ➤ A local reporter joined Syede Aziz—the city’s traffic engineer—and Bruce Scholes—the electronics foreman—to see how Idaho Falls monitors and repairs its traffic signals. The visit included a live call where the team addressed an alert and demonstrated their rapid response to issues. East Idaho News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ On July 9, the Idaho Heart Foundation donated AEDs and a LUCAS device—worth up to $24,000—to first responder groups such as Salmon EMS, Swan Valley Fire Department and Madison County Sheriff’s Office to replace outdated equipment. Dr. Blake Wachter, a local cardiologist, said the donation was part of ongoing efforts to boost heart health education and improve emergency response. East Idaho News
