- ➤ The Haus of Paws Project, an online auction featuring custom-painted dog houses & hand-painted cat shelters along with fine art, launched yesterday in Idaho Falls to support Snake River Animal Shelter in its effort to rescue and rehome vulnerable pets. The auction runs until midnight on Aug. 14 and will fund emergency care and daily adoption programs at the shelter. East Idaho News

- ➤ Development Workshop, Inc. cleaned and inspected all 30,000 rubber ducks+ workers with disabilities helped discard any broken ones in preparation for the annual Duck Race held on August 9. KXPI
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Police arrested two men after a hit-and-run near St. Anthony on August 2 when the suspects allegedly hit a car and attacked its occupants; the Fremont County Sheriff's Office reported that Randy Wheeler Junior and Tayson Thomas face charges of felony aggravated battery causing great bodily harm with bonds set at $75,000. - ➤ Brandi Newton is stepping down as executive director of the Idaho Falls Arts Council after 12 years to join The Bank of Commerce as Vice President—Director of Marketing later this month. The Arts Council board is now searching for her replacement and hopes to name a new leader by fall. East Idaho News
- ➤ Brandi Newton, long-time Executive Director of the Idaho Falls Arts Council, has joined The Bank of Commerce as Vice President, Director of Marketing. A board member noted she made a strong mark in local arts + the council is starting a search for her permanent replacement with plans to name one by fall. KXPI

- ➤ The City of Idaho Falls released its proposed Budget Book for the upcoming fiscal year, outlining a not-to-exceed $389.6 million plan that funds 11 city departments and key services such as public safety, the airport, and Idaho Falls Power. A public hearing will be held at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 14 in the City Council Chambers at 680 Park Ave so residents can review and comment before the final budget is adopted Aug. 28. KXPI
