- ➤ The Snake River Stock Car Association is hosting a fan appreciation event for high-speed dirt track racing tomorrow at Idaho Falls Raceway located at 8433 West Arco Highway with go-kart races for kids at 5 p.m. and car races at 7 p.m.—the event will also offer bounce houses, face painting, a 50/50 raffle for the Idaho Falls Rescue Mission, and a canned food drive. - ➤ Elizabeth Smart will visit Ammon on Sept. 3 as the keynote speaker for a Fall Ball fundraiser that supports her foundation’s work to end sexual violence and help survivors. - ➤ A 49-year-old Madison County man, Jeremy Paul Hurst, died when his motorcycle collided with a parked garbage truck on 160th E near Old Ririe Highway around 12:30 p.m. as emergency responders including Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputies — Idaho Falls Ambulance and Jefferson Central Fire — worked to free him from beneath the truck.
