ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A semi-truck hauling haystacks overturned Tuesday morning on Hitt Road near John Adams Parkway—Idaho Falls police blocked the southbound lanes as crews worked to clear the scene—causing traffic delays.  East Idaho News

CRIME NEWS

  • Bonneville County Sheriff's Office is searching for 22-year-old Braxton Scott Larson, who escaped from a work detail crew at 9:30 a.m. today and now faces escape charges—authorities urge anyone with information to contact dispatch.  KXPI

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Idaho Department of Fish and Game has issued a fish salvage order for Mackay reservoir that will remain in effect through October 31 and applies only to the flatwater portion—excluding the big lost river and in-flowing waters. During the order, anglers can harvest fish without bag limits while the irrigation district drains the reservoir for maintenance and future upgrades and a valid fishing license is required.  KPVI

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Idaho Public Utilities Commission approved a rate increase for Falls Water to cover rising operations and maintenance costs & improve aging infrastructure for roughly 6,833 customers in Bonneville County northeast of Idaho Falls. The new rates include revised monthly base charges and higher service hookup fees for the Falls Water, Taylor Mountain and Morning View systems, and will be implemented soon.  KXPI
  • Tomorrow from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., the Idaho Transportation Department will host an open house at the Snake River Event Center at the Shilo Inn to present proposed improvements for U.S. Highway 20 from Idaho Falls to Arco—plans include widening the road to two lanes in each direction for better safety and capacity for freight and commuter traffic. Additional funding could allow construction to start next summer.  East Idaho News

  • Romi Weaver of Snake River Animal Shelter said Radar is a 4-year-old Shepherd mix who replies to commands like 'sit,' 'down,' and 'up' and was named Pet of the Week. Radar is friendly with children and small dogs+ visitors can meet him during business hours at the shelter.  East Idaho News
