- ➤ The City of Idaho Falls is hosting a free, family-friendly Water Tower Tribute Block Party this Friday, October 10 from 5 to 9 p.m. downtown on Memorial Drive—featuring a night market, live art, themed giveaways, and a fireworks display to honor the historic water tower while welcoming the new one. - ➤ History will come alive as the Idaho Falls Symphony and Museum of Idaho join forces for Phantoms & Fugues, an event that will take place on Friday, October 10 at 7 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church—where local storyteller Chloe Doucette and Symphony Executive Director Carrie Athay will guide the audience through real local ghost tales set to music by the Merino String Quartet and organist Dr. Daniel Kerr. - ➤ Gas prices in Idaho have dropped slightly to $3.47 per gallon as colder weather approaches, although the state remains 8th in fuel costs compared with a national average of $3.13—AAA noted fuel demand is falling while higher crude oil costs may temporarily disrupt the seasonal pattern. KPVI

- ➤ Idaho is using a copper based chemical—Natrix—to remove Quagga Mussels from the Snake River, and the treatment is causing fish and plant losses in the area today. ISDA will continue the process through the end of the week while officials say the short‑term harm is needed to prevent long‑term ecological damage. KIVI-TV

- ➤ Deputy Chief Paul Radford has been named interim fire chief for the Idaho Falls Fire Department—he brings over 20 years of leadership experience in administration and operations.
