- ➤ Eastern Idaho’s 8th annual wall of warmth will be on display from November 10th through November 21st to help those in need this winter as donations of coats, hats, gloves, boots, and snow suits are accepted at 64 drop-off locations—its goal is to collect 9,000 coats. KPVI
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Employees at Idaho National Laboratory evacuated a building on Monday evening after a minor steam explosion was reported at 750 MK Simpson Boulevard—staff had already left by the time emergency responders arrived and no one was injured as a piece of falling equipment caused the event without fire or damage. East Idaho News
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ In southeastern Idaho in 1975, farmers reported dozens of cattle with missing organs and clean cuts while law enforcement set up night patrols and rewards (up to 31 cases were noted) as theories ranged from human crime to occult activity but the mystery was never solved. East Idaho News
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Idaho gas prices dropped this week as AAA reported the average for regular fuel was $3.44—two cents less than last week and nine cents lower than a month ago. Experts said increased oil production and cooler fall weather will likely push prices further down in the coming weeks. East Idaho News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Idaho Falls Regional Airport is collecting donations to support TSA employees working without pay during the federal government shutdown—local donors are invited to drop off food, toiletries, and grocery gift cards at the Airport Administration Office Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The temporary effort began on Oct.20 when the shutdown reached its 19th day and aims to help federal workers facing financial hardship. - ➤ The City of Idaho Falls Street and Sanitation Divisions will begin collecting leaves on Oct. 27 and continue until Nov. 21 — crews will pick up loose leaves curbside and may clear large piles using heavy equipment. Residents should rake leaves free of branches, sticks, and debris a week before pickup and move vehicles off the street — ensuring safe and efficient service. KXPI
