- ➤ Today, the Jazz House Big Band will host Swinging: The Great American Songbook at the Frontier Center to raise funds for the EIRMC Auxiliary—tickets cost $10 with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the show starting at 7 p.m.—featuring live jazz and vocalists performing music from Tin Pan Alley to 60s blues. - ➤ A nonprofit is hosting a free 8-hour memorial run/walk at Freeman Park on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event—called Circles of Love—will honor 17-year-old Tristan McKnight, who died on Sept. 20, and raise funds for his family. East Idaho News

- ➤ Toby and Stephanie Hayes opened their apothecary, Modern Hippie, in 2021 and now run a second shop at 118 West Main Street in Rigby— they plan to open a third location in Idaho Falls soon. East Idaho News

- ➤ The Art Museum of eastern Idaho will launch youth group nights on November 18th from 6 to 8 p.m. in Idaho Falls so local youths can see the current exhibit and join a hands-on art project — tickets cost $2 per youth and reservations are required. KPVI
- ➤ KPVI is hosting a Halloween candy contest and invites local residents to vote on their website— the winning candy will move forward and be announced on the show on Halloween morning. KPVI

- ➤ Idaho Goat Grazers brought 70 goats to Century Heights Preserve Wednesday afternoon to cut weeds, cheatgrass and lower wildfire risk—Sagebrush Steppe Land Trust said the method reduces chemical use and supports native plants. KPVI
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Idaho Falls Street and Sanitation Divisions will begin the annual leaf collection program Monday, Oct. 27 until Friday, Nov. 21, and residents should rake leaves free of branches, sticks, and debris to the curb one week before their pickup date — crews will use sweepers and heavy equipment as needed while advising residents to move vehicles off the street. - ➤ Starting next month, Idaho will delay issuing SNAP benefits for food assistance because the U.S. Department of Agriculture requested the pause amid a federal shutdown—applications will still be accepted but wait times may be longer until funding resumes. East Idaho News
