EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Snake River Animal Shelter held its first teen humane education program this summer called Paws for a Cause to teach proper care and give shelter pets enrichment—teens played with dogs and kittens in hands-on sessions. The program ended with a visit to a local nursing home with a shelter dog—Goliath—and the shelter announced it will run the program again next summer with grant funding. East Idaho News

- ➤ The Gem State Classic Pro Rodeo earned national recognition as a PRCA Top 5 Medium Market Rodeo for the second year in a row at the Eastern Idaho State Fair in Blackfoot. PRCA members will vote from Oct 28–31 and winners will be announced on Dec 3 at the PRCA Awards Banquet in Las Vegas — a sign of the event’s growing national profile. East Idaho News
