COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ The city of Idaho Falls will host the Downtown Tree Lighting and Holiday Market on Saturday on Memorial Drive from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Horse drawn trolley rides are set at Civitan Plaza from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.—and the tree lighting begins at 6:00 p.m. on Broadway Plaza—with Santa visiting. KPVI
- ➤ The city of Ammon is hosting a Holiday Outdoor Decorating Contest for residents, with registration open now until November 28th—entries must be from Ammon addresses. Judging will run from December 1st through 15th and winners will be announced on December 18th—four contest categories include the Clark W. Griswold Award, Most Traditional, Most Creative, and People's Choice. KPVI
- ➤ The Idaho Falls soup kitchen fixed record-keeping issues following a six-month change in command and board members — it now serves 150 people a day while calling for volunteers as food donations have dropped amid cutbacks and layoffs. The kitchen is open daily from noon to one o'clock at 301 South Boulevard. KXPI
- ➤ Nathan Apodaca (Doggface208) became an internet icon when a video of him riding his skateboard after his car broke down went viral. He will host a turkey giveaway on Nov 22 (to thank his community) following his new success. KXPI
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A local barrel racing star was hospitalized after she was thrown from her horse during a charity event in South Jordan—she landed headfirst on concrete, remained unconscious for three days, and has since left intensive care while her husband said she still dreams of competing in the National Finals Rodeo. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ A holiday pop-up market with unique handmade gifts is now open in the Art Museum of Eastern Idaho’s lobby at 300 South Capital Avenue in Idaho Falls—this annual event runs until Dec. 27 and offers local art for free entry shoppers. East Idaho News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Idaho state leaders are selecting members for a new nuclear energy task force created by Gov Brad Little this fall. The group will include state officials, lab leaders and local partners and will hold its first meeting in February to study nuclear research and supply chain issues. East Idaho News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Idaho Falls marked the opening of Headwater Behavioral Health Treatment Center on Thursday to help youths ages 12—17 deal with mental health challenges. The residential facility will provide individual psychiatry, therapy, group counseling, family therapy, and round-the-clock nursing care to meet a critical need in the community. KXPI

- ➤ Following their Pioneer Baseball League Championship Series appearance, the Idaho Falls Chukars hired Les Lancaster as their new manager — former skipper Troy Percival left for a Long Beach expansion team. The club retained longtime pitching coach Bob Milacki and is working to keep key players recruited by Percival. East Idaho News
