- ➤ The Idaho Falls Fire Department in partnership with Idaho Falls Firefighters IAFF Local 1565 has relaunched the Fill the Ambulance Toy Drive, inviting community members to drop off new unwrapped toys for children aged 0—18 at any Fire Station from Nov. 21 through Dec. 12. The drive supports Ronald McDonald House Charities and Idaho Falls Rescue Mission and will end with a festive finale on Dec. 13 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center—featuring a Light Parade and Ugly Sweater Car Show. - ➤ Kaitlyn Hart spent a day working with Dr. Adam Petersen at Skyline Animal Hospital in Idaho Falls, where she learned about pet care and dental procedures. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Starting December 1, public works will close 65th North between 5th West and 5th East as crews replace the old bridge over the Idaho Canal—drivers must use 81st North or 33rd North as detours while work continues through April, weather permitting. KXPI
- ➤ Crews are finishing interior work on a round-about at the intersection of John Adams Parkway and Curlew Drive in Ammon. The road will be closed starting tomorrow and work will continue for three weeks, so drivers should use alternate routes. KPVI
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A new residential treatment center for youth with mental health challenges was completed at 383 Energy Drive, where staff held a ribbon-cutting last Friday—construction began in May and the facility, which spans 18,000 sq. ft. with a capacity for 40 patients, will open in January. The center is expected to provide local long-term care for teens who previously had to travel out of state for treatment. East Idaho News
