  • Ammon hosts Holiday Lightapalooza at McCowin Park on Dec. 6 starting at 6 p.m.—the event features illuminated holiday floats, vendors, free shuttle buses from 5 p.m., and treats for early visitors, with Santa arriving at 6:30 p.m. at the gazebo and a float vote contest for families.  East Idaho News
  • The Southeast Idaho Special Needs Christmas Ball returns this Saturday, Dec. 6, at Hope Lutheran Church and School on 2071 12th Street, with dinner from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and dancing until 9 p.m. The free event welcomes all ages and accepts donations and sponsorships.  East Idaho News

  • Ammon Art Garage has opened the Splatter Zone where families, teens, and friends can enjoy a one-hour creative paint session costing $20 per person, with discounts for students. The two rooms (one holds 10 people, the other five) feature UV glow and neon effects at 3330 East 17th Street.  East Idaho News
  • 7-year-old Elliott stepped in for ill Emmy on Dec. 4 to interview acclaimed singer Nathan Pacheco, who will hold his Christmas concert on Dec. 20 at a local venue. Pacheco’s hit classical albums topped Billboard charts and he will perform live for the community.  East Idaho News

  • The National Weather Service in Pocatello warns a winter storm will affect east Idaho starting Thursday evening, with Marsh Valley, Arbon Valley, and Teton Valley expected to receive heavy snow and strong winds. Travelers should check road conditions & be ready for hazardous travel through the weekend.  East Idaho News

  • Idaho Falls Power held a ribbon cutting for its new peaking plant, built to generate energy for up to 13,000 homes+ when demand peaks. The facility, completed in line with the utility's 125th anniversary, will reach full operation at the end of the month.  KPVI
