  • Idaho State Police launched its ninth annual ’10 Counties of Christmas’ drive to deliver holiday meals across ten counties with donations accepted today at Broulim’s in Idaho Falls—troopers and local businesses plan to serve families in remote areas over the next two weeks.  KXPI

CULTURE NEWS

  • Chabad Lubavitch of Idaho will host its fourth annual Chanukah celebration on Dec. 14 at 5 p.m. at the Shilo Inn — the eight-day festival features a program, Chanukah songs, traditional treats and a grand menorah lighting ceremony led by Rabbi Zali Lifshitz.  East Idaho News

  • Three local high school students received the Pocatello Promise of Tomorrow Mayoral Scholarship — a two-year, $2,000 award at Idaho State University. The committee selected Addison Sparrow, Dayton Jordan Williams, and Derek Stuart Williams based on academic goals and financial need.  KPVI
  • Dr. Robert Wagner hosted a fall celebration for ISU faculty and staff today at the Pocatello alumni center with a catered meal and desserts (enrollment hit its highest since 2011), and he will host holiday parties at the Idaho Falls and Meridian campuses in the coming week.  KXPI

  • Sixteen local and regional high school basketball teams will compete this weekend at the Mountain America Center in the TitleOne Tip-Off Classic, with each team playing for a $1,000 donation to a chosen nonprofit (including causes like mental health support, veteran aid, and food assistance).
