- ➤ Hillcrest High School senior Samuel Porter accepted a full four-year scholarship worth over $325K to Middlebury College as a QuestBridge finalist; he is one of nine nationally matched with the school and the award covers tuition, fees, housing, books and travel expenses. East Idaho News

- ➤ The Idaho Falls Fire Department opened Fire Station 6 at 2767 N. Spitfire St on Tuesday, Dec. 23. It will be fully operational on Jan. 5, 2026 and will house a Class 1 fire engine and an ALS ambulance to serve the growing north side. KXPI
