  • Snake River Animal Shelter has named Boots, a 4-year-old lab and great dane mix, as its Pet of the Week; visit the shelter (3000 Lindsay Boulevard in Idaho Falls) Tuesday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Saturday until 5 p.m. to meet him.  East Idaho News

  • Brit Floyd, known for its premiere Pink Floyd tribute, will perform live Sunday, June 7 at 7 p.m. at the Mountain America Center in Idaho Falls + tickets go on sale on Ticketmaster Friday, Feb. 20 at 10 a.m.  East Idaho News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • College of Eastern Idaho launched an Alumni Network Tuesday for graduates to reconnect with their community, offering free membership, mailed alumni stickers, recurring semesterly newsletters and special event invites — nearly 100 members joined in the first days.  KXPI
  • State lawmakers approved budget bills that will impose an extra cut for Idaho State University with an $8.3 million reduction planned by July 1; K-12 schools will largely remain unaffected. Lawmakers are reviewing the numbers, and further enhancement bills may adjust funding for higher education.  KXPI

HEALTH NEWS

  • Heartstone Youth Grief Group at Hospice and Palliative Care of Eastern Idaho (1810 Moran Street) offers support to children coping with the loss of a parent. Bereavement coordinator Camille Cook said the group, which has helped hundreds since 2017, is seeking funds and volunteers to expand camp programs.  East Idaho News
